Number keys are reserved for instant audio and alert control rather than scene jumping, on the theory that volume and "what are the alerts" are what you need right now, while scene selection can afford a Tab or two.
Inside Map Navigation
Press N to enter. Within it, Tab cycles between the Storms, Alerts and Grid Explorer lenses; the arrow keys walk items or move the grid cursor; [ and ] change the grid step between 1, 3, 5, 10 and 25 miles per press; Home returns the cursor to your location; Enter reads full detail; and Esc leaves the mode.
A note for NVDA users
The display carries role="application", which means NVDA switches to focus mode
on its own and stays there. You should not need to toggle browse and focus mode at all, and
single-letter keys like M and N reach the app rather than being
swallowed as quick-navigation commands.
